Fort Collins, Colorado – Scuba Schools International (SSI) the premier education and business support company receives the prestigious ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification worldwide. On June 1, 2010, Scuba Schools International received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification worldwide. ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 162 countries including the United States.
“It used to be that a domestic standards organization was enough. Today, SSI does business in 110 countries and can no longer rely on just a national standard. SSI holds the esteemed ISO certification in Europe and for consistency and continued growth, it only made sense to get the worldwide certification,” stated Doug McNeese, President and CEO.
ISO is anon-governmental organization that forms a bridge between the public and private sectors. On the one hand, many of its member institutes are part of the governmental structure of their countries, or are mandated by their government. On the other hand, other members have their roots uniquely in the private sector.
Standards make an enormous and positive contribution to most aspects of our lives. They ensure desirable characteristics such as quality and safety.
We take standards for granted when things meet our expectations. However, when standards are absent, we soon notice. And the organization responsible for many thousands of the standards which benefit the world is ISO.
McNeese continued, “Even our newest programs have been approved by ISO – Dive Guide, Dive Control Specialist and Enriched Air Nitrox. We are proud to be part of an organization that holds companies accountable for the safety and quality of their products, programs and training. We are excited to add the prominent ISO brand to the list of SSI’s achievements for the last 40 years.”
